I am deeply honoured to serve as the Southern Lights Toastmasters Club President for the 2026-2027 season!

Our club meets weekly to practice public speaking, communication, and leadership skills in a safe environment. Our members are dynamic, diverse, open, enthusiastic, and supportive. Their experience ranges from members who have recently joined us to long-time Toastmasters who have been members for decades.

Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced speaker, you'll find encouragement, mentorship, and opportunities to grow. Our members have the knowledge, experience, and passion to support you throughout your Toastmasters journey.

I joined Southern Lights three years ago to continue developing my public speaking skills. From my very first meetings, I enjoyed listening to members share their knowledge and experience through Table Topics (impromptu speaking), prepared speeches, and thoughtful evaluations. As a naturally quiet introvert, attending weekly meetings has helped me immensely. Southern Lights has been a safe place to challenge myself, step outside of my comfort zone, and gain confidence by taking on different meeting roles, and speaking regularly—all while having fun. More importantly, I found a community of leaders who exude positive energy, are passionate about supporting each other to become better communicators and leaders, and are dedicated to delivering engaging, high-quality meetings each week. Our club truly embodies the Toastmasters core values of Integrity, Respect, Service, and Excellence.
